It's good to meet people with like minded beliefs. Some times you can feel quite isolated living in a world where not many people share your beliefs.

You'll be exposed to many new ideas and possibly learn a lot. You'll hear & meet some amazing speakers and make some new friends. We saw some great plays as well. It's a lot of fun.

So wish we had a Humanist Org. or even an UUO here in J'vile! The meetup events here are mainly for singles. I personally would like to start a simple Philosophy Discussion group as soon as I complete my Masters in Philosophy, but until then, I am most grateful for all I do get to attend in Wilmington and New Bern.
