Humanists & Freethinkers of Cape Fear Message Board › note from someone who does not have a group near him

Just to show you how lucky we are, I am posting this note I received from someone who lives in Western NC.
"I was curious about Humanism and saw this chapter listed as one of only two Humanist groups in the state. I have to tell you, I'm jealous. I'd love the opportunity to meet and socialize with people who have similar beliefs and social concerns. I'm not a member of any organization, though I am a liberated former Christian. I say liberated because, as in most religions, I was indoctrinated before I was old enough to decide for myself. I think it's great that secular organizations are filtering through our culture, and I'd like you to know there are some people in this state who support your group, even if we can only by stating our agreement. Depending on what part of NC, there's a group in Greenville SC that might be close enough. We drive 2 hours to Wilmington and always enjoy the daytrip. They're called the Upstate South Carolina Secular Humanists Here's a link to them -
