Now that we are meeting on Sunday evenings, it seems appropriate to have a light supper at the meetings. Yesterday we ordered pizza and collected money to cover the cost. it was a great success! Please vote on how to handle this in the future.

We are planning ahead, and intend to reserve a space for the winter Solstice dinner soon. We have decided upon the restaurant Indochine, at the corner of Market and Wayne. It is a lovely place, and we will have "The Buddha Room" as a private room for the party. It is full of various representations of The Buddha ! The question is : Which do you prefer as the date for the dinner:

Due to the growth of our group, we will need to move the location of the meetings soon. We would like your input on what time to start the meetings, as this will determine where we can find space for the events.

If we become a chapter of the American Humanist Association we will be able to 1) get publicity through the Humanist website, literature, etc; have access to their organization help;3) secure tax exempt status and the ability to handle funds, open a bank accounts, pay for and receive payments for services and items in a transparent, accountable manner; very likely attract more members; However, on the negative side 1) we will have memberships dues: 2) we will be obligated to use the word "Humanist" in our name, i.e Cape Fear Humanists and Freethinkers" or something similar
