Hello everybody,

We've had some great suggestions for films so far but they are all still in the theaters. Darnit! I should've clarified - we were thinking of something we could see on the big screen TV at Himalayas. David suggested we watch the next episode of Planet Earth. What do you all think?

doh! I'd suggest "Bridge to Terabithia" based on an award-winning tween novel. It's been out on DVD quite awhile, but I just saw it the other day. Quite good for a Disney movie. I haven't read the book, and I doubt the movie quite compares to it. But there are a couple of very interesting exchanges in the movie about religion. iirc, the book has been repeatedly banned by fundie jesus critter activists for its content.

The History channel has a great series on the universe. They have a lot of interesting programs on the History channel. And since the election has been a big topic in the news you could watch 1984. Classic Orwell. And a good book to look at is The God Delusion. Written by one of the world's leading Athiest. I havent read it all yet but it will commit you fully to what you think when you read it.
Anyway those are my suggestions.
